Burgers were delicious and good portion. Service was great. The front of the restaurant is open so it was really nice. Great area.

We stopped by for Sunday brunch and it was delicious! We ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict with Avocado paste and the Belgian Waffles and split them. Perfect portions to share.

The salmon was smoky salty and perfect with the butter soaked bread and avocado paste and poached eggs. I love how it was plated with the toast halved and two poached eggs, perfect for sharing.

The waffles had strawberry bits, maple syrup and chantilly cream. Nothing was too sweet or too rich, just right. I would have loved just a touch more strawberries but that does not detract from the meal.

Decor was industrial and chic. It was lovely to sit on the patio and there were only two tables in that area but the nice weather just added to the ambiance for brunch. My go to spot now.

My husband and I ate here last night and we absolutely loved it. The ambience of the restaurant is awesome. It was a little noisy for my taste but that was to be expected for a Friday night. Especially with the street fair going on right outside. Our server Edgar was awesome and attentive. He made sure we weren't wanting for anything. The food was amazing!! I don't know what they put in that poutine but I could eat that whole bowl by myself. I got the drunken pig burger with tempura onion rings, which were both delicious. My husband got the NY strip with the mashed potatoes and broccolini. His steak was seasoned and cooked to absolute medium rare perfection. The drinks were awesome and reasonably priced. Highly recommend the Samurai Sour and Jackie Treehorn(if you're a Big Lebowski fan, you would be a fan of this drink). We are definitely coming back again. It was the perfect date night.

Pretty solid menu. It's modern American. They have extensive whisky selection. There's Whisky Wednesday special for those who enjoy their whiskey. I'm more of a wine gal.
The State is relatively new in the Monrovia area. Service was pretty decent, given there was only one waiter. Food wise, it's pretty tasty. I got the cesear salad w shrimp. It came with a lot of dressing. All the dressing was very off-putting. I should have asked for it on the side, my error. The shrimp was nicely seasoned. It was quite garlicky and on the smaller side. The
waiter kindly gave me advance notice on the shrimp size. I would come back to dine again.
