So I usually go to Alexander's in Cupertino. I was so happy when I heard Pasadena was going to open one. First day I was in query waiting to try my favorite Hamachi shots and do comparison.
Well... Hamachi shots aren't as good as up north but the steak was heaven.
Now I've been there two other times, second time sat right at the bar. Disappointed!
Why? Well... Staff was very rude, steak was overcooked with no seasoning and my usual Hamachi shots had very minimal white truffle taste to them, which is what makes them special.
Came by to try the third time thought maybe it's one of those days...
Same thing but waited over and hour for my food. There you go... Hope this helps and share your experience s to help others.
Great food, amazing service. They are a little different from a traditional steakhouse, and also offer cuts of wagyu beef. Get the hamachi shots!
Again, I have to emphasize the service, as everyone on the wait staff was extremely polite and courteous. You can park in the building garage and get 90 minutes validated.
What can I say, this is not merely dining out, it's a dining experience! The wagyu beef was prepared with demonstrated integrity and pride and it truly melted in my mouth. The selection of different salts was a real treat too. The General Manager will stop at nothing to ensure a fine dining experience and he succeeds! The chef de cuisine is exceptional and obviously well versed and the bar is tended by amazing people who know a lot about the libations they serve. I spent over 4 hours for dinner and loved every second!
# A most extraordinary culinary event. The food and staff are impeccable.
Modern and amazing service. Nice to go into a top steakhouse and not feel like I am 90 and sitting in my grandpas dining room. This place has windows so again you don't feel like eating in the basement of your grandparents house. Yes there are some steak houses that have plenty of windows but they don't have the modern interior look of this place. And yes the food matches the interior ambiance and energy. It will set you back but well worth it. The fried rice is actually really good btw.
