Excellent quality pu-er tea. Very attractive and elegant for someone willing to slow down and enjoy. I recommend the tea tasting service since knowledge of the preparation and culture affects the flavor.

I have no idea why people are not familiar with this spot! I am so happy to have found it...in today's world of constantly being connected, it's a much needed escape room. The tea tasting is phenomenal. Jeffrey made our trip with his knowledge, guidance and explanation. The history and great flavor are second to none. Well done!

If you want to make sure you’re getting a high quality, conscientiously harvested Pu-erh tea, this is the place to go. I feel so privileged to have found this place and to have easy access to their teas.

Most tea drinkers assume that teas originated from China need abundant rinses before they drink it. Denong is different. I compared their Pu-erh with Rishi brand Pu-erh and the difference was SO clear right off the bat. I’m not an expert but after learning about just basic tips to differentiate the tea quality, it was just so clear that Denong’s was much much better quality. For example, Denong’s tea leaf color was more vibrant (not faded). Denong’s first cup of pu-erh (rinse) was simply clear. Rishi’s had a lot of particles and it almost looked muddy. Rishi’s tea leaves were all cut-up and had lots of stems. On the other hand, Denongs’ was mostly whole leaves. Rishi’s after-taste and texture was also not pleasant — felt sandy.

Background info:
Denong’s teas are trustworthy. Just take few minutes and talk to the staff there to learn about how they harvest their teas. They spend more on labor to keep it organic(chemical-free) and they invest in educating their workers. They are community-oriented and they prioritize their customers’ pleasant tea experiences and health benefits.

I have no ties with them at all, but everything I said became known to me after talking to the staff for hours and seeing their pictures(they have a book, too, if you really want to delve into it!) and comparing their teas with other brands’ teas.

If you have access to this place, you should give it a try for your own benefit :) it’s a privilege we have such a business that strives to do good for people with their products. Pu-erh is beneficial for health and mind and I think Denong strives to bring the best out of its natural benefits with their dedication and hard work. I wish more businesses would take this place as an example.

P.s. pricing is very reasonable for the quality. Actually the pricing is lower than what it deserves. If you’re unsure, try their tea tasting! ????

One of the most authentic traditional high end Chinese tea place I’ve ever been to! The quality of the tea and the overall atmosphere is unmatched even when compare with many high end tea shops in China. As a puerh drinker I would definitely recommend this place. I’m glad they chose pasadena, lucky us the residents here.
