DD's Chick and Cat Shack

Ok, so I was googling best chicken in Pomona and literally stumbled across DD’s. I remember growing up in Pomona and going to southern fried chicken and fried fish spots locally. These places seemed to disappear as I grew older so when I stumbled across DD’s I was compelled to give ‘em a try. As I was waiting with my son for our order DD himself came around and my man has great southern hospitality, something missed in society these days. This man has his kids teamed up and cooking with him which awesome. His welcoming heart and love for his food shines through in his food for sure. If you’re craving some fried fish and chicken come on by and give ‘em a try. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!!

I’m very picky with My chicken I love it seasoned and cooked greatly. I’ve headed from so many people this was the place to get some amazing chicken and fish. I ordered the chicken tenders box and one bite with their sauce I just about died. I won’t go anywhere else. I’m so glad I finally got the chance to try them I’m glad thank you

I have no words and yet so many at the same time… I frequent VP Racing which is the same building but today… there was something different about today. It was a frustrating day before I arrived but as soon as I stepped out of the car, the smell hit. I had just come for gas next door but that smell…. That was irresistible… The fact that this is the longest running place that’s been in this spot was another reason I had to try it. I was starving and the smell only made me more eager to order. I got the greeted by a wonderful woman who chatted with me while taking my order. Absolutely pleasant. I got the Catfish Box with Swamp Water which came out to $11 and I was surprised I got a drink at all! For that pricing?? Nowadays??? Then after getting my change I was taken aback… I got more than just the catfish and fries that I had thought came in the box. I got 3 beautifully cooked pieces of catfish. Those sat atop a generous serving of fries that were seasoned soooo very well. On top of that, 2 hush puppies, some coleslaw and the amazing delicious wonderful sauce on the side. I didn’t eat until I got home just around the corner but WOW. Just… WOW. I shared with my mother who was skeptical and she was taken aback. I wanted to YELL. I’ve never never enjoyed food the same way I did this meal. Just.. WOW. It’s been about an hour and I’m still so frustrated(?) about how good it was. I know this review is long but I promise it wouldn’t be this long if the food wasn’t that damn good. Amazing owners. Amazing food. I’ll be back with my girlfriend, who I regret not trying it the first with her. I love seeing this family and business thrive. I am a forever supporter now. If you’re the owner reading this, THANK YOU. Just wow!

Savory and delicious food! The cajun sauce is really good and the prices are cheap. The only negative is that they forgot my drink with my order. But the food and staff are great. I'd definitely recommend this place and I will for sure be returning.

*edit* I ordered from them again the following day and the owner gave me a free drink to make up for the day before. Customer service is truly a priority here!

This was my first time coming to this establishment and I have to say... the service, the food, the quality was beyond amazing. There are many choices on the menu for all to choose from. We ordered the catfish box and the chicken box along with some drinks swamp water and dirty tea. The fish and chicken were fried and seasoned to perfection as well as the hush-puppies. Honestly I could eat here everyday of the week, having real southern cooked food this good across the river is hands down the best you gotta come here. We will definitely be back for more. I would recommend everyone to come here 10/10
