“Stopped in intending to get quick take out because of a craving and ended up staying to dine in with a friend. Got a dish the waitress recommended in addition to the specialty juicy dumplings I was craving and it was all beyond delicious. The decor is gorgeous as well and the restaurant sparkling clean. “The foods are not bad at all, I wouldn't say it's the best in the San Gabriel Valley. I would give it close to 3.8 stars for the foods. Close to 4 but yet it was my first time here and I didn't get to try other dishes on the menu. They've earn 5 stars because the waitress are such caring and friendly lady. I told her I am allergic to seafood, she checked on all the dishes to make sure there are no seafood in it and told me which dish I can eat and which dish I cannot. She came back a few times to check on me. She went to ask the chef which dish contain seafood just to double make sure I am not having any reaction. Thumbs up for that and I would definitely come back for other dishes.”

“I started coming here when this place was called New Capital. I love coming here! Gone is the lady calling out numbers on the PA like an auctioneer, now they have some overhead displays to show your number. This fact hasn't diminished the overall charm. I always get a kick out of the fact I'll be a lone Latino ( or few if I'm with some buddies) in a sea of Asian faces. I've dated a few Asian women who seemed impressed at my love for this place. Anyways this review is for Dim Sum as I have not eaten dinner here yet. The selection is mighty, always the usual with some never before seen selections mixed in. I'm like a kid in a candy store every time I come here !”

“This is an excellent hot pot restaurant that serves healthy food at a moderate and competitive price. They feature seafood, various meats and vegetables and beer and soft drinks are offered as well. The food is selected by the customer at a buffet style counter. All the food is fresh and and looks very appetizing. The food was cooked at my table and kept hot by a burner stove placed under the metal dish which contained my food selections. I simply chose what I wanted to eat from the bowl and placed it on a small dish. The service is excellent and everyone was cordial and very helpful. I was very fortunate as the owner saw I was new to this style of dining and she made sure I was comfortable, explained the food selections and preparation to me, and personally served me at my table! What a nice touch. I have never received service like that before! All the food was excellent. Another plus is that all the food is healthy so for those of us who like to watch out diet, this restaurant is a blessing. Great attention has been given to the atmosphere and furnishings and the establishment is very clean. If you are looking for food that is tasty and nutritious, I highly recommend Lights Of City, hot pot restaurant.”
