Wow is all I can say. This is a delicious meat centric restaurant in the heart of Santa Monica. While most of their dishes are creative, I’m a HUGE fan of the burger. It is truly superb. This is not a place to miss out on.
Belcampo is the hero we need and deserve. I hate the lack of transparency about where food comes from and what’s in it. Not here!
Belcampo has become the new standard I judge all of my meat and poultry against- It’s the way meat is intended to look and taste.
And the people are really nice and informed.
Also the frozen foods in the pint containers are clutch! is the best thing to keep in your freezer. Mt favorites are the green chicken curry and the Moroccan lamb stew.
I seriously hesitate to write this review because this spot will soon become a tough table to get. This establishment serves one of the very, very best burgers I’ve ever tasted, and that’s saying something. The large room manages to be both comfortable and unpretentious with a great bar and some of the best restaurant lighting. Or maybe it’s because of the great lighting from the very well stocked bar. In any case, when I allow myself to indulge a craving for a burger (and really good fries), we head over to Belcampo. Service is consistently solid and friendly. But please don’t tell anyone....
The atmosphere in the dining room is great and our server did a perfect job. However, the three bone-in ribeye that we ordered medium rare came out medium. Besides that, our group thought that the flavor of the steak is not competitive with those of other more dedicated Steakhouses like Wolfgang’s.
Fantastic meat emporium! Well curated/sourced selection of special cuts not all butchers have. An excellent treat to buy their meat!
The restaurant is so full of great choices that you'll want to stay for your next meal. Try the belcampo burger to start. Can't go wrong.
