Northern Cafe （颐丰园）Temple City

Craving for some Chinese pies, decided to order from this northern Chinese Cafe. I was going to order online, however, the menu was not complete. In the end, I called. I ordered noodle w/ bean paste (炸酱面), pork pancake, juicy pork dumpling (小笼包), beef roll, and pan fried pork dumpling. Their noodle was amazing, thin and chewy, the meat sauce tasted delicious. The pork pancake was superb, juicy meat w/ thin crust. However, the pan fried dumpling and juicy pork dumpling were not up to par, the skin was too thick, and no meat juice in them, very dry. The beef roll was fine, crust and meat were good. I will definitely get the noodle and pancake again.

I've only gotten takeout from here. The food was great!!! Yummy and good sized portions-- I ate it slowly over several days. The main draw was that I came about 15 minutes after they told me to come and still had to wait 10 minutes for my food and it almost seemed like they had forgotten it! But the food itself was worth it enough for me that I would definitely come again and order more takeout

Yum! Simple Northern Chinese food! Not greasy. Takes credit card. Great for groups with 3 semi-private areas for family dining.

Service were slow but food was good. Shrimp and egg dumplings were delicious

This place serves northern type of Chinese cuisine such as onion pancake, dumplings and noodle types of dishes. The food are pretty good especially the dumplings and the handmade noodle. The house stir fry noodle can use a little bit more meat tho. Overall, the food is decent and it is reasonably priced. The service is also very efficient. Recommended.
