Gorgeous space, wonderful service and excellent food.
I dined here multiple times while staying in Point Arena, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The space is warm and inviting, and the live edge wood bar and tables are gorgeous. You can make a reservation for the dining room, but they keep the bar available for walk-ins. The service was attentive and efficient, especially from co-owner Elyse, whose passion and knowledge made the experience.
The beer and sake menu is impressive and well-curated, I enjoyed all of the selections recommended to me. They also have several local wines on the menu for those that prefer it.
The menu rotates seasonally based on availability from local farms and purveyors, and everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. All the dishes are shareable small plates, and the portions are perfect if dining alone or for ordering to share with a group. My favorites were the “addictive” cabbage (it really was!) and the karaage fried chicken (it’s not to be missed!).
If you’re in the area, Gama is a must try!
We had dinner at Gama last night and what a treat! The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed - the space is warm, with lots of wooden accents. The restaurant is small - so make sure to make a reservation! We were there on a Sunday evening, and it was busy. The menu is concise, but includes options for all tastes. ...this isn't just for sushi and seafood lovers. We ordered 4 menu items for 2 people - all of which were beautifully presented and really delicious. Given our success with selecting our menu items, we'll definitely be more adventurous next time. In addition, the service was excellent and the vibe was friendly and outgoing. My mouth is watering when I write this - can't wait to return!
Lovely place, newly opened, with very knowledgeable and kind proprietors. We went back for a second time so we could try different dishes. Delicious food for amazingly low prices, and an excellent sake selection. We will be back (I hope!)
I can't wait to totter back and forth between the wildflower motel and this place again. What an experience, dining with a 7 year old (who was treated very kindly!!) while elbow to elbow with some real life local cattle ranchers. The trout with rice is still completely on my mind.
Fantastic Restaurant!! The setting is amazing (the smell of cedar is cozy and the look is fabulous). The food, sensational! I am not a big seafood eater so I was nervous at first but by the end of the night I was trying the sea urchin and loved that as well as everything else on the menu! If you are looking for a fine dining experience at a reasonable cost, this is the place to go!
