Delicious clam chowder! Sourdough bowls come with croutons from the carved out portion. Sat out on the deck and enjoyed the ocean view.
I went here with my dad, his friend, and son. We first get to our table with a great view of the water and then we order our meal and drinks. After about 20 minutes, only the one beer came out and our other drinks did not. Had to go back in and mention we waited. My dad gets his clam chowder in a cup, hardly any chowder. My dad wanted a coke. Again, he waited for nearly 15 minutes and didn't receive it. I understand the place was understaffed and a couple of young ins were working, but could have mentioned the shortage and then we would have been more patient. 2 stars for service, 3 for food, and 5 for the great view. Overall, 3 stars for this review.
My partner and I spent 3 beautiful, relaxing days camping at the KOA in beautiful Manchester. Im so happy we found The Chowder House. We of course ate the clam chowder and it was so delicious. The cheese bread really completed the meal. Its right on the beach next to an old fishing pier. The view was incredible. Very friendly staff. We can't wait to go back.
Their clam chowder is gluten free! I'm so used to having one or two options at diners since I had to give up gluten but this place has some good choices. I got the BLTA on a gluten free bun and I got to share my husband's clam chowder because they use cornstarch. The staff was super nice too!
We were supposed to have reservations but we didn't know that. I was afraid they were going to turn us away but they let is have a table. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. We got the bacon and chicken linguine and a cheeseburger with fries. The only downside was it took so long to get our food. We didn't mind because we were so happy to get in but it was at least a good 45 minutes. The waitress and/or kitchen did go above the norm and even split our meals that we were sharing into individual bowls from the kitchen which was so nice not to have to pour hot food into a cold bowl. It was a chilly evening and it felt so good to eat a hot bowl of yummy pasta. I love to cook and I can say the Alfredo was made authentically. The views didn't hurt either
