OK, I did not come Mammoth Lakes to eat ramen and sushi. But how can you drive four times a day for 3 days and not be curious why they would misspell ‘Godzilla’?!
Come to find out ‘Godzilla’ is the Anglo name for ‘Gojira’. Go figure. 😆
Great food, great service and ‘Gojira/Godzilla’ posters everywhere. Loved it!
This Japanese restaurant is in Mammoth lakes. We ordered the vegetarian miso broth ramen. There are vegetarian options for sushi as well. We ordered the sweet potato sushi and the avocado sesame seed sushi. The sushi was ok. But the ramen was really good. One of our friends also ordered the tonkotsu ramen with pork belly. In his opinion the pork belly was really good. The vegetarian miso broth has a good depth of flavor. I ordered with extra mushroom and extra egg. The mushroom has a really great earthy taste. They also give the chilli paste in the side which adds really spicy kick to the ramen( if you prefer spicy).
My Godzilla obsessed son saw the place on the side of the road and was greeted with Godzilla merchandise galore! Service was very quick and got my son a Godzilla Beanie as an early birthday present. Food was delicious and if you put a Yelp review you get a free beanie or cap😀
Came for a late lunch when we were craving for a hearty warm bowl of ramen in Mammoth lake, and it didn't disappoint. The bone broth was rich and flavorful, pork belly was also well-flavored, not melt in your mouth but still tender and had good texture. Soft boiled eggs were on point. I honestly loved the egg yolk, they nailed it. The spicy tuna roll was good too, tuna tasted fresh and refreshing. As for the ramen noodles, they serve a thicker Nagasaki-style ramen which is good. But unfortunately, they were a bit too soggy for my liking, other than that, it was a good bowl of ramen that we really enjoyed in Mammoth!
Decent ramen place. Although the place seemed slightly pricey for the food portions. The staff was extremely friendly. They have an outdoor seating option which was great.
