    This is our favorite restaurant in Carmel, nee the Bay Area. We've been coming to this Asian-California fusion destination founded by Kenny Fukumoto, since it opened 25 years ago, and it never disappoints. The food is amazing. You'll love the wantons and salsa. The staff are incredibly attentive and personable. And it is noteworthy that they very infrequently turn over hence the consistently stellar service. Don't miss this one when you come to Carmel.

    We showed up late for our reservation and they rolled with it like pros. The service was outstanding. Very friendly, helpful and attentive. She got the halibut and I the sea bass. Both were excellent in their own regard. The only issue we had was with ambiance. It's advertised as a romantic place, which I'm afraid the very obnoxious party behind us didn't understand. Had it not been for them we surely would've been able to whisper at one another. No knock on the Flying Fish, though. It felt like they were aware of the situation but couldn't do much about it. In fact, they tried to make it up to us. Would definitely give them another try again in the future.
