“Cute, relaxed, pub/beer store with a small menu of great food and 14 draft lines. 6 coolers worth of beers from all over the world, and a bandolier of underberg for good measure!”

“Went here to try out the coffee and wow I am blown away. I am very picky with my iced mochas and this met my expectations and gave me a smile. I order an iced mocha with oatmilk and it was beautifully crafted rich and sweet. With enough caffeine but not too much. I also ordered there duck fried donuts and omg soooo good so definitely 💯 recommend just to go there and try. They have sandwiches if you’re not feeling a coffee and pastry or you can visit later and try the dinner.”

“Cozy spot in downtown Carmel by the Sea. We enjoyed a glass of wine and appetizers while watching the game before our dinner reservation at Seventh and Dolores steakhouse next door. The Annex features a nice flight of Folktale wines along with other wine options. Their Sparkling Brut with caviar chips were a tasty treat to set the mood.”

“We held an event here for about 50 guests and we loved it. It was the perfect venue with great beers and also prosecco and wine. Jeff the owner was great to work with. We also enjoyed the patio as it was a sunny day and nice ambience to enjoy our drinks. Great location too. Would recommend to anyone!”

“We've been to Woody's at the Monterey Airport and have enjoyed it, so when we heard Woody's was opening a second location at Del Mesa, 5 minutes from our home, we were excited to try it. First impressions: incredibly attentive staff and great food!! We received a complimentary taster at the beginning of the meal, made with fresh local ingredients, as well as a complimentary ceviche appetizer and a delicious dessert, again made with local ingredients. All of our main courses were excellent. They currently have only wine and beer, no full bar, but that didn't impact our enjoyment of the evening. Henry, the maitre d', is super personable as was the rest of the wait staff. We wish them great success.”

“Update 12/28 Invited another couple for a dinner and we had a great time. Started with bread, wine and cocktails. I ordered the Denver steak for the first time. It might be one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The mushroom medley and veggie trio paired well along with the fries. The food is great and more options have joined the menu. Steakcraft served us up an incredible dinner. A full Wagyu ribeye was thoroughly enjoyed which was big enough to share for two adults and two kids. A side of brown butter cauliflower mash and roasted Trio of veggies went well with the steak. The two sets of duck fat fries and aiolis were eaten up quickly. Our Avocado Greens salad was fresh and delicious and a substitution on the cheese was easily accommodated, per my wife's liking. A lovely Malbec wine was recommended as was a cocktail (Rio De Janeiro). A delicious flourless chocolate cake came for dessert. The restaurant is nicely appointed and I could see a room in the back that is meant for private parties. The full bar is able to handle all drinks and there are espresso machines for cappuccinos and lattes. I saw lots of non-alcoholic drinks on the menu as well. It's a lovely place for special meal or business meeting. The noise level was quiet enough to have conversations around the table but lively enough to give you a sense of energy in the newly opened restaurant. It was only half full that night but people came and went regularly. The staff were nice and professional. The owners were very hands-on that evening and wanted to make sure they took care of us. I've enjoyed their breakfast/lunch eatery Breadsong for months, so their Steakcraft opening was exciting to partake in. I wish them the best!”

“We had a wonderful stay here to celebrate our anniversary. Staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast in our room each morning was awesome and so well done. We were escaping from our kids so it was nice to have a very relaxing place to stay where we could just take it easy. It's walkable to all the shops in Carmel and to the beach, very convenient! So charming and the courtyard is so quaint. We didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurant, but it looked awesome. Would absolutely stay again!”

“Visited this spot twice during my stay in Carmel, for good reason! It is 100% on the pricier side but for the fresh and tasty dessert you’re getting, it is very well worth it. They had different desserts and pastries on both my visits (and this was 2 days after each other, so that says a lot). The owner was very friendly as well, and this is a business I will happily come back to and share with others if I have the opportunity to do so. Highly recommend! Especially their pistachio cake, that was my absolute favourite.”

“I had lunch here last Saturday. What a beautiful place! The food was great, the flamenco music and the interior design created a beautiful Spanish atmosphere. One of the owners came to say hi to me. Oh did I mention that bread was delicious?! I found this place kind of randomly, I didn’t fancy lining up in more popular places in Carmel, and I am very glad I came to Promesa. They are less known because they only opened the business this year. Excellent restaurant, I wish them a lot of success!”

“I was hesitant to go here since there was only one review but decided to give it a try and WOW - we're glad we did! This place likely doesn't have many reviews because it seems to be a place locals come and love. It really is a hidden gem (we had difficulty finding it as the sign outside said "Village Gem") and it's worth locating. Amir, our host, was so incredibly friendly and kind and everyone working there seemed to give their all. And the food was outstanding! The beet salad had so many layers of flavor built in and our mushroom ravioli was probably the best we've ever had. Everything tasted and looked like it was prepared by a seasoned professional executive chef. It was also really lovely to see all of the locals (maybe 10-12?) who gathered for a laid-back and warm-emitting dinner in the outdoor area (which was really nice!). We HIGHLY recommend this place - it actually couldn't have been better and we travel often and eat at higher-end establishments a few times a month. Thank you for a wonderful dinner!”

“Lovely cafe for breakfast brunch and snacks. Fantastic fresh juices and vegan vegetarian food options. Indoor and outdoor seating. Beautiful decor and fantastic service. The chocolate and strawberry balls were Devine.”

“Rooms are nice enough. Nothing extravagant but they are fine. Really appreciated the filtered water refill station. Staff was kind and rooms were clean. Complimentary coffee pods that they compost was a nice touch. Didn't get to take advantage of the pool or hot tub but it looked nice. Definitely would stay there again.”

“Delicious! I’ve been to Carmel a few times and this was my first time stopping by Dutch Door Donuts. There were a couple donuts up front so you could see what they look like, but the donuts are made for you when you order! I got a nitro brew, two donuts, and picked up some treats for my dog. The donuts were fresh (obviously) and very tasty, especially the chocolate donut. My dog also loved the treat!”

“Pretty good place for burgers and other dishes! They also have a nice selection of local beers and wine. We tried the salmon, portobello burger, and clam chowder which were all really tasty! Unfortunately the clam chowder had bacon in it (which was not mentioned on the menu) so be aware if you do not eat bacon like me.”

“This is a great spot. They have awesome food and live music on the weekends! I had the O’Calllaghan’s Burger which was one of the best burgers I have had in a while. They have happy hour daily from 4-6pm. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed!”

“Nice, clean shop. My mother got a BLT here and said it was some of the best she’s ever had. We both also enjoyed our pastries, although I wish they’d offered to heat them up for us, considering our meals were dine-in. The reason I removed two stars is because I ordered their house soup, which comes in one size and costs nearly $10. What I received was a bowl of clear, unseasoned broth with boiled chicken, onions, and cabbage. I truly paid $10 for the kind of food you would find at a local soup kitchen. This was war camp soup. TLDR: get a pastry, skip the soup.”

“This was such a fun and delicious food tour! It’s so nice to discover little restaurants in the Carmel by the Sea area. Our guide, Amber, was really great. She was cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Carmel by the Sea. Whether you’re here as a tourist or a local looking to discover something new!”

“Spent $40 on breakfast for two here; so the usual “hotel breakfast” prices. Omelette was very well done. Potatoes were probably my favorite part of this breakfast- crispy on the outside, and perfectly soft and mashed on the inside. Toast was served with butter and jam. (I asked for peanut butter but they didn’t have any available.) The restaurant has large windows with views of the pool, and updated decor and furniture.”

“Soo excited that Links Club has finally opened! It’s just what Carmel needed. Where else can you hits balls, watch sports, and drink?! Stopped in with my friends this weekend and we had so much fun. Top of the line golf suites, great and well-priced beverages, and a funky, delicious menu. We will definitely be back here for more good times.”

“This is a new restaurant in Carmel, and my god, the food is outstanding. Michelin food quality. The oysters were perfectly shucked, with quality sourcing and the freshest taste we’ve had in awhile. The salmon puff pastry was unique and delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare, retained all of the fat and juice yet was crusted better than a backyard BBQ grill. The patio is gorgeous (and dog friendly) with a European vibe that is also quintessential Carmel. Lastly, the service is immensely professional and personable, even on the busiest weekend (July 3rd). Our server, Amir, beats out many servers we’ve had across Chicago and San Francisco restaurants. Thank you for a great date night, Village Gem.”

“I was recommended this place for good food and fantastic live music by folks on the Carmel food toor. Stopped by on Sat night, with my daughter who had a wiggly tooth and was very cranky at the moment and hard to please :) the place was really crowded, with live music and no available tables, but the owner and staff put an additional table for us and we got the best seats in the town - next to musicians! Food was extremely flavorful - best arugula apple salad I had so far, vegetable dish had great presentation and was amazingly tasty… Overall - exceptional food, great entertainment and happy vibes throughout - everyone was dancing till 11 pm! On weekend nights, with live music going on, the place may not fit your quiet romantic outing plans, but will definitely charge you with smiles, laughs and dance moves (shake it!). My daughter was smiling and enjoying the ambiance too, and even forgot about her tooth for the evening :) I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an original food and a live music/fun experience! Will definitely be back”

“Fantastic experience. We are vacationing in the area and just discovered this gem while exploring the Carmel area. I've gone to a ton of sushi restaurants in my life and this ones at the top of my list. The staff and host (Marty) we're exceptional. They made our experience quite memorable. We ordered several sushi rolls plus an appetizer. The rolls tasted amazing... We decided to come again a second time since we're only in the area for around a week.”
