Stokes Adobe Restaurant

What can I say… I’m in love with Stokes Adobe! I had my birthday dinner there and the owner, Sarah, and her wonderful staff made it flawless and beautiful! Delicious food, yummy signature drinks and friendly staff make Stokes an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely fantastic dinner! We sat outside, which may have been chilly at 7:30 but they're well appointed with heaters, and you can choose to sit at a fire pit which also looked really nice, though we did a table since we were getting a full dinner with lots of sharing. There's big privacy hedges so you're nicely isolated from the road. The waiter, who looked to be taking care of all of the porch area, was absolutely delightful and super attentive. And of course the good was incredible, don't miss the crispy potatoes! And the drinks were out of this world, the Yellow Parrot is amazing if you like absinthe. Absolutely give this a try if you're in the area!

The ambiance was amazing outside. I was between two heat lamps, so although it was cold outside, I was nice and toasty.
The appetizer was the sweetbreads. Portion size was just enough to have a good taste but not get full. Had nice flavors that went well together.
The duck was the best duck I've had.
Not gamey at all. I was informed its because it was a different type of duck but in any case, absolutely delicious.
Typically the dessert is the best part for me but the duck surpassed the apple pear crumble for me.

I think the best part of dining is a personable server. Even if I don't like the food, I'm more likely to go back if the service is great.
So I'll definitely be back because not only was the food amazing, the server JB I believe,
was very nice, didn't rush me but checked in just enough to acknowledge I was still there and was great with conversing.

The food was delicious and the drinks were also worth the money. Perfect end to a perfect weekend. The cherry on the Sunday so to speak. Would love to go again. Staff super friendly and kind. Worth the money!

Opened in October21 this little gem in Monterey is destined to have a following of patrons. The menu includes a tasty ensemble of appetizers and entrees and a full drink selection to compliment. The venue is a quaint converted Adobe with a number of different rooms, though it can get a bit loud at full capacity. Outdoor seating has fireplace and heat lamps. Happy hour available before dinner either outside or at their indoor bar. Service was decent and items were reasonably priced and portioned with pleasant presentation. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for a nice meal.
