Delicious food. Large portions. Friendly people. What more could you want? ♡
I am new to Napa and am in search of a favorite place. This quaint diner in a somewhat dilapidated strip mall could turn out to be what I am looking for.
There is plenty of parking and the menu showed the prices to be reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes I saw on every plate.
My own ham and cheese omelet was perfectly done and larger than I should have eaten. The hash browns and toast were also just right (though if you prefer some crunch to your potatoes, ask them to cook them a little more). The service was prompt and friendly. They even kept an eye on my water and kept it filled - no easy task, as I drink a lot of it!
So why only four stars? Two reasons.
First, while I am not usually moved by the decor (or lack thereof) in a diner, this place is covered in signs telling customers what NOT to do. Every table even includes a brightly-colored sign informing patrons that if there is any evidence of "playing" with the things on the tables (jams, creamers, and other condiments) that the server will clear your table. As a fidgeter who often builds towers out of the tiny jelly boxes and half-and-half cups, or who moves things around so that I can dine at my ease, I found this off-putting. (I put things back when I am done, I promise!)
Second, I chose a table in the center of the room. Because of the "don't play" signs, I sat on the side away from the condiment assortment. There were three paths to the tables behind me. All four restaurant staff used the narrow gap beside my seat to access them. It was not generally the most direct, and since my shoulder protruded into the path, not the most open. I was bumped repeatedly. Not really worth complaining about, but it was enough to keep me from relaxing.
Still, it was good food at a good price with mostly great service. I will likely be back, but I will definitely sit in a corner away from walkways and condiments.
Went here looking for a good local restaurant and read blown away. The food was amazing and the portions are huge. Definately recommend.
Not sure if you can check review history, but I literally never leave reviews. I'm doing it for this place because the food is delicious, affordable diner food. I had two different breakfasts from this place and it's one of the best breakfasts I've had in recent memory.
The service is great, friendly, and bilingual. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
I had really nice breakfast here. Big tasteful plates at reasonable prices. Good overall service.
