First time visiting this winery with my husband. We both are impressed by the beauty of the scenery. It’s late January, a sunny day after days of rain. The winery surrounded by green hills and vineyards. The tasting room is huge and beautiful, with plenty of natural light from the glass roof and wall. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Wine is great. Learned a lot about Spanish wine variety. My favorite is their red wines. Love the Pinot Noir, Cabernet, and Galatea. Thanks Sylvia for your hospitality!
We had a very exciting trip planned to Napa, with Artesa being our first stop. I've been to this winery quite a few times as a local, however I am sad to see a bit of a change. The views are always beautiful and we had a wonderful associate take care of us for wine taste, however I felt that we did not get a full or equal experience. For the rising prices and exclusive feel, the overall experience of Artesa feels uncomfortable for visitors.
(+) Beautiful estate. Amazing views of the valley.
(+) Wines are really good.
(+) Tasting room is really nice too.
(-) Make sure you have a reservation. Even if you are going with club members.
(-) Gets ridiculously crowded.
I've come here a few times, every time with club members. Seems like as of late they're just getting too many people so you'll be turned away if you don't have a reservation. Even if you do, you might be stuck with bar space. It's beautiful, and their wines are amazing, but I'd recommend going first thing in the day before the hoards of people come.
Stunning location, estate & landscape/architecture. Too busy & too many staff for good entry attention, but good tasting experience. Intentionally light winemaking approach, some excellent wine, definitely overpriced.
Definitely go for the views!
