Sushi Wazen

Great sushi. Everything I have had has been fresh, tasty, and priced very well. The employees are very nice and service is spectacular. Ordering omakase is not an issue

My daughter and my favorite Ramen place we've found in CA to-date, and we have been looking. Completely innocuous from the outside, you could easily drive right past it, but inside the place is small but has an upscale, casual decor. I've liked everything I've tried on the menu, and I'm not a huge ramen lover. They also have two Japanese Belgian-style beers on the menu which are both delicious

Sushi Wazu is as good as it gets and Irvine/Lake Forest's best-kept secret for sushi.

I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want it to get more crowded than it already is but Chef Nobu deserves as much business as he can get.

First, the fish is fresh. Chef Nobu is a pro and he only stocks fresh fish. Often selections are not available which means the fish at market didn't meet his standards.

Second, the prices are just ridiculous. It's like he's been doing this so long that his prices are stuck in the 80s. My wife and I will usually spend $150-200 easy when we go eat sushi, at Wazen? $70-90 WITH ALCOHOL. I know, I know... It's ridiculous.

Giant clam, mackerel, yellowtail, uni .. can't go wrong. In addition to the sushi, the oxtail dish is like butter.

Oh and he's not doing the "Heil Hitler" at you... it's just his way of saying "Hi/Got It/Thank you/Enjoy!/I'm not sure I understand but have a nice day!"

Best sushi in town! Best prices and quality sushi, can't go wrong. Only thing is place is not too big so recommend getting there earlier then usual, specially with large parties.

I love this whole in the wall Japanese/sushi restaurant! Japanese owned, fresh fish (love the salmon) and EXCELLENT sushi prices! They have everything from sushi to entrees to noodles. Favorite sushi spot in Lake Forest!!! Nobu the chef is great and his mom is sweet. Hard workers! ????
