    What a truly wonderful gem in the OC. The Newport area is lacking many really good restaurants but this one. Family run, excellent high end authentic Italian. Most dishes are northern. A must do.

    I had the branzino but wanted more mussells, overall it was prepared just right, the service was definitely had a European flavor, if you know what I mean. Will add this one to our list of eating out options

    I've been coming to il Barone for few years, but my first time after their move. Much nicer place and the same friendly staff, but they seemed a little under staffed today. Maybe because of the holidays? Unfortunately, food was not they used to be. I've come to expect exceptional from il Barone, but today was hit and miss. Grilled Octopus appetizer was excellent but seabass special was bland, beef stew was very average, and linguine de mare was overcooked. Spaghetti bolognese was still exceptional. Maybe they need more time to adjust to the new place. Will try them again in couple of months. Hope its better next time.

    Love the new location. Food is still superb. Staff goes above and beyond. Can't wait to get lunch here.
