First time at this place just opened in April 2024. Very high quality, amazing flavor. Don’t really want to know the sodium content in the very large, generously filled bowl of Tonkatsu ramen I enjoyed (concern about the sodium has nothing to do with this restaurant, specifically, as all similar dishes tend to be very high in sodium for this type of place).

Also tried the pork gyoza - very tasty but a bit too oily for my liking. Table service is a nice touch for a small place that looked like it would be order at the counter. And service was friendly and prompt.

Overall, very pleased with a very tasty and flavorful offerings.

Ever since I had Ichiran ramen in Tokyo I've been searching for a similar spicy Tonkatsu ramen that wouldn't require me to go back to Japan.

It's taken multiple years but I've finally found what I was searching for here at Mako Ramen!

Their Tonkatsu ramen is superb by itself, but once you add the Nanami Togarashi blend of chili peppers, it becomes the perfect blend of savory and spicy that I've been searching so long for.

    Absolutely perfect!

The ramen is fantastic! Stumbled across this place during my lunch break and it did not disappoint. I was truly surprised on how good and flavorful it was. Kudos to the chef! Excited to come back!

Cool to get a non chain spot in this area.

Really good ramen. I got the shoyu and it was great! I’m not an expert but have been occasionally getting ramen at well regarded spots for over a decade and the ramen I had here was one of the best I can remember.

The staff was very friendly and the food came very quickly although it was not busy on a Monday. Simple atmosphere in the restaurant.

If you’re not very familiar with ramen… expect something very flavorful and exciting although a bit heavy. Sort of a comfort food but also nourishing.

They also have a few non ramen options although a limited menu which I like personally.

This ramen place is something else. I was delighted to see that they had Miso soup (one of my favorite Asian dishes), and it was hands down the best thing on the menu. Coloring and presentation were top notch in beautiful ceramic bowls, and the dish was perfectly prepared with a savory and balanced blend of noodles, broth, and menma. Complementing my noodle experience, the atmosphere was felt warmly modern, but still hearkening back to ramen’s origins in Japan, with serval iconic works of art displayed around the restaurant. To finish it all off, the staff were quite cordial and accommodating, swiftly delivering noodles to our mouths in less than 10 minutes.
Without a doubt, I will be coming again and again to Mako Ramen for years to come.
    My compliments to the chef!

Also, say hi to Master Kim if you drop by.
