Presentation and quality of fish was superb. If you are a sushi lover and in the area, this is hands down the best sushi! Recommend the butter salmon, it is not what it sounds like. It’s still raw and chilled.”

“Good spot for a solid meal with friendly service in a fun setting. Spacious and airy with lots of good seating options. Tons of TVs to watch sports. Probably a good spot for the live bands they do on weekends. Have a big digital readout of the beer fridge temperature (was around 30 deg F while we were there), so they seem to take providing a refreshing beer seriously. Not a foodie spot but all the dishes we had were well cooked and composed.”

“I kid you not when I say this place was FANTASTIC. Living nearby, I’ve been waiting for this place to finally open and today was the big day, so I knew I had to go!! Walking in right away, you’re hit with the cutest aesthetic and friendly staff. The menu is limited to a couple pages, but I feel that everything would’ve been a good choice; it all sounded so good. I came starving and ended up choosing the avocado toast, chilaquiles, and overnight oats. Avocado toast: The bread was thick and crunchy, bacon was crispy, and egg was perfectly poached. Avocado could’ve been thicker, but that’s okay. Chilaquiles: Not traditional, chips are not fried in the salsa verde so they stayed crispy (which I actually liked better!) so they are basically breakfast nachos. Salsa was amazing, I could drink the stuff. Overnight oats: Good! They are served chilled and have chia seeds mixed in, which is a nice touch. I like all the fruit on top too. It was not super sweet and was very filling. A nice thing to grab on the go I think. Coffee (no picture): I got a latte and it was so cute with a design. They have a big fancy machine, so I just knew it would be good. I was not disappointed! Wish I got some OJ to go with it - next time! Overall: The ambience for the place is great, everything looks like it was picked with care. There is lots of parking outside and even more seating inside. The staff was friendly and attentive and gave great suggestions to me. I would come here again! Glad to such a nice new spot to come too for weekend brunch!”

“My friend and I tried the new Backyard BBQ place on Main St. tonight. It was very good! I had the pulled pork sandwich and my friend had the open face tri-tip sandwich. Both were cooked perfectly. The bread was crispy and fresh baked. We really enjoyed the food. The staff were very friendly and courteous. I'm looking forward to trying the ribs next time.”

“We had heard about SB Chicken CO., so drive over from Belmont Shore to check it out for dinner tonight. My husband is a fried chicken connoisseur and he loved it!! I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and my meal was delicious. Our waitress was awesome! She made us feel very welcome and the service was excellent. It is the perfect place to have a family dinner, a casual dinner for 2 or get take out for a picnic on the beach. This sure to become your favorite place. Oh, and if you prefer burgers, those are on the menu, too!”

“We've come here about 4 times now. My husband loves the chicken bowl. He says it's so flavorful. I keep ordering their tacos. They are a good size and full of fish. They don't skimp here. Taco Tuesday is a great value. If you are sensitive to spicy food, you might find the sauce spicy and could ask for a less spicy alternative. I loved the clam chowder. Next time, I'm determined to try something from the grill. I think they are going to have to eventually raise their prices because you get a lot of food for the price and it's very fresh. Even if they do, I'll still come here.”

“Best French Toast I've ever had in my life! They use home made bread and dip it in a Brulee mixture before they fry it. The Chilaquiles were great and mildly spicy. The Avocado Toast with Poached egg and potatoes was also great. They marinate the thin potato slices in a green herb mixture that provides nice flavor. Everything here has a homemade touch. “They're all set up for takeout during the statewide Covid-19 lockdown. They take your order and you pay at the front door. You get your food in minutes, super fast! They have a little counter height table on the sidewalk outside (no chairs) that you can belly up to and chow down your food. But the restaurant is about a block from the pier, so I took my delicious Loco Moco to the benches at Eisenhower Park just north of the pier. Great food! Great view!”

But the menudo was a bit bland and only served on weekends. The flan lacked caramel sauce and was rubbery, but who cares, just get dessert elsewhere (lots of nearby options on Main Street) and chow down here first. Reasonably priced by Seal Beach standards. They also serve beer, and wine Margaritas.”

“First time in Seal Beach and to this restaurant. My mother ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Cheeseburger. It was piled high! A burger, pulled pork and onion ring. She loves all three and really liked then he as well. I ordered the Bacon Egg Mac N' Cheeseburger with no lettuce or tomato. It had Mac and cheese, under a cheeseburger with a fried egg on top of that, with bacon on top of that! The burger was really good! The Mac and cheese was definitely out of a can or box. It tasted fresh and I like that they used corkscrew pasta. The burger was just huge! Both burgers were served with hangout fries. They tasted like they were freshly made from a potato. The burgers were a reasonably priced for specialty burgers. With taxes, my mother's came to $13.99 and mine was $16.15. I'm guessing being that the restaurant was so slide to the pier and offered ocean views had to do with the slightly high prices. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to others.”
