Had the brisket sandwich with a side of beans. $17... not a real value. Meat was dry, flavor good. Chop meat served on a bun... it falls out. Perhaps better served on a split roll? Beans were heavy on sugar... well seasoned would be better. No greens on the menu. The peach lemonade was good.

Stopped by to review menu and prices. This is a covered concrete patio with black plastic mesh covering most of its west and north exposure. Order at a window and entrees are brought to your plastic topped picnic table. Multiple outdoor smokers provide uncommonly large capacity. Orders can be placed by smartphone.

$28/lb for sliced brisket. "Burnt" beef ends on weekends (no quantity given). Green choices consist of Cole slaw. Soda, ice tea, lemonade water and custard slushies round out the soft drinks with 805 and Coors light for beer choices.

I walked in, passing a young female employee, and said 'hi' as I passed. She ignored me and continued on to the ordering counter where she continued to ignore me as I reviewed the menu in front of the order window (see pic}.

Came by at 3:30. No chicken or burnt ends available when first ordering. Beef brisket was black, but not dry, outside and red for about 1/4 inch down from the surface. Fatty sections were moist, tender, and tasty while lean sections were dry, chewey, and flavorless. Cole slaw had a viscous, creamy sauce which was more tart and peppery than sweet. My wife thought her serving was old and chose not to finish it out of caution.
Baked beans were strongly flavored and more tart than sweet.

After about 30 minutes, we were told burnt ends were available, so we ordered a burnt ends macaroni and cheese bowl. This is served in a styrofoam to-go box with the mac & cheese placed first and the beef placed on top. The mac & cheese was mostly submerged in hot, clear, reddish oil. The macaroni was firm, but not tough. The 'burnt' ends are smoked throughout (all red), but not seared (outside & inside are the same color). Almost all my pieces were without fat, and were chewey.

Our 12 oz bottles of 805 beer were $6 each. All staff members we dealt with were cheerful and helpful.

Delicious BBQ in Colfax? We sure hope this place sticks around! We don't have many good lunch options here in town so it's a delight to see a new restaurant in this location. They've done a lot to upgrade the seating/dining experience versus what it was before when the Dawg House was in town, and their efforts improving the place have definitely not gone unnoticed!

Their tangy Carolina sauce is my favorite of the 4 currently available, though they're all good! The pulled pork sandwich I ate was on point - and overall I'm very pleased to have this place open so close to home!

I'll look forward to coming back with friends and family to sample more and more of their apparently delicious menu!

Overall - good stuff, but a little pricey for what it is. I’ll be back. The one star reviews are just silly and unfair. Just walking up to the place, it smells great, with multiple smokers cranking away outside.

I ordered a turkey deli sandwich and a brisket Mac bowl.

The sandwich had great, peppery, smoked turkey but the roll that it came on was very dry and maybe a little stale. It kind of tanked the sandwich (which was NOT typical sandwich price range at 16 dollars!!!) I asked for extra Mayo but there wasn’t enough (given the dryness of the bread). I think if you got a fresh or even locally sourced roll - the sandwich would be killer!!

The brisket and mac and cheese were both soo tasty, but I wish there was more brisket on there given that it cost 17 dollars….

Also enjoyed the coleslaw and the BBQ sauces.
