The Lodge at Big Springs

First time here despite visiting and eating in Truckee a lot over the decades. Excellent service and food. Funky, historical-ish ski-ish decor. You'd never guess how good if you judged solely by the appearance of the raw driveway / access environment, which is a bunch of condemned cabin/cottages that were apparently once some kind of motel (?) A fun addition to a long list of great ways to experience Truckee.

The food is very meh. Chili peppers is generally good and the breakfast burrito is tasty. The views are the best part, especially on the top floor. Bartenders are also great, during busy days and here's one outside, one upstairs, and the large bar on the main floor.

This place is located at the centre of all the skiing St the resort. The food here is alright and reasonably priced. There is plenty of seats but also plenty of people so there may be a wait. Upstairs there is a bar, more seating and a charging station. Downstairs there is more seating, restrooms and some lockers.
It is also a good place to escape from the cold. There are fires located outside.
