I first went to John Henry's probably 14 years ago and had many a fine meal there. Recently I returned to the area after several years living out of state and had the opportunity to dine there again. And I must say it was every bit as good as I remembered. The menu is not some multipaged monster, but extensive enough to offer a variety of choices, all of them excellent. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive but not intrusive. The soup that evening was a delicious chicken noodle and tasted like it came out of grandma's kitchen. I had the veal picatta which was outstanding, and my dining companions rack of lamb was done to perfection. I found zero to complain about and my friend, who had never been there before, couldn't wait to go back again.
There are many great restaurants in Palm Springs, but when it comes to consistency and quality, John Henry's is hard to beat. So if you are looking for a place to take someone special to celebrate an occasion or just want to treat some friends to a great evening of dining, this is where you want to go. Please note that reservations are a good idea, especially during season, and they do close for the summer.
The food is fantastic. But be sure to order a desert. The pies come with a very generous amount of vanilla ice cream. Eating outside in the garden area is romantic. Eating inside nice but if you have the choice eat outside.
Highly recommend eating here! It's in a busy part of town but they did an awesome job of making you feel like your in a private area even on the patio. Food was delicious! They don't have a menu for children but they were very accommodating for our kids. Definitely save room for dessert. Only issue is the parking lot is tiny and hard to see.
This restaurant is truly a hidden jewel. It is a unique indoor/outdoor dinning area. This restaurant reminds me of New York you arrive at a gate that opens to a magical twinkle light lit garden setting. This restaurant is loved by locals, I recommend reservations. The desserts are equally as delicious to their meals. When in Palm Springs make sure to dine at John Henrys.
This restaurant is a longtime favorite of mine. Great for taking out of town guests for a superb meal. The menu offers something for everyone. The patio as my friend stated is mystical, trees with twinkle lights, garden patio with heated for your comfort or artsy interior seating. Make sure you save room for dessert you wont be sorry. The restaurant is known by most locals or a bit of a challenge if you are new to the semi-hidden location....however definately worth the search
