    This is the first authenic Peruvian restaurant in the Coachella Valley. Be aware its located inside an abscure strip center in Rancho Mirage, the sign says MJ Gourmet. If there aren't many cars in front, don't worry.

    You are in for a huge treat. If you are familiar with this cuisine you will be very happy, if you aren't....you'll be ecstatic. The flavors are really special, there is something for everyone. Please get outside your comfort zone when ordering, you will be rewarded.

    Each dish is presented beautifully, the food is very fresh. The owner and staff are very caring. The service is bit slow, but any waiting is worth it.

    Better make reservations, the space is small and intimate, simply and tastefully decorated. Nice, small bar if you need to wait.

    Be prepared for a real treat to your tastebuds. Happy dining!

    Amazing food, wonderful hostess (who I believe is the owner) and our server was lovely too. We had the Lomo Saltado and the salmon dish and every dish was truly superb, along with the sauces. It's great to have an authentic and well priced Peruvian restaurant in the area, I highly recommend Maria Jose's!

    Food was excellent and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It is a fairly new restaurant so Maria Jose was very open to feedback and wants to ensure each person has an enjoyable experience in her restaurant

    Unique Peruvian dishes. Great presentation with friendly service. I highly recommend.

    Our 1st time having Peruvian good
    Great tastes. Waiters were very helpful explaining the different dishes. The owner Maria Jose comes to each table to make sure everything is OK. Will be back
