Raw Sushi Bar Lounge

This was my first time coming here for Valentine's Day. It was packed and also on a rainy day. However, my husband and I got lucky and sat at the bar and so we didn't have to be on the waiting list to wait 45 mins to an hour long to be seated at a table. The place is very nice and the staff were all very nice too. The bartender was great and took care of us and everyone one around us. Came to check in once in awhile too. Even though it was so packed, they were all very great and did a wonderful job. There was music and one kitchen sushi bar area too. We ordered two cocktails and they were delicious. We also got some sashimi, jalapeno calamari, and a shrimp deep fried roll. Everything tasted great. I would recommend coming back here to taste more food and with a bigger group too. I had a good Valentine's day here with my husband. Also, it was kind of hard to take photos on my phone of my food sitting at the bar with all the lighting. Btw their water they give you to drink, it has a funky taste in it. So I'm not sure if it always tastes like that or maybe just today. But it tasted very odd and not refreshing. That was the only thing I would complain about.

This sushi restaurant is very nice and the atmosphere is great. Being that it is newer, they still have kinks to work out, like the check-in process. We made reservations and still had to wait about 25 minutes after. And watching people get seated before us that came in after us started to erk my nerves, but I decided to be cool. I'm glad I did because our food was hella good, my waitress was hella cool, and my drinks were hitting! Definitely will be back!

What a wonderful experience! RAW is a beautiful restaurant with great food. The space itself is artfully designed. From the lobby waiting area, to the bar and lounge, the private dining spaces, and the main dining room— every single area is gorgeous and functional. We tried the restaurant on the spur of the moment on a Friday night. Though we didn’t have a reservation, we were seated within 10 minutes of our arrival.

Once seated in the dining room, we were taken care of by the kindest, most attentive server ever. I wish I would have gotten his name so I could give him proper credit! I really enjoyed how he talked us through every step of the dining experience; he was friendly and outgoing, knew the menu inside and out, and gave us thoughtful recommendations. We were so excited seeing all of the special rolls coming out from the sushi bar that we wanted to try them all; my husband and I each ordered two rolls (Dante’s Inferno & Roadkill for me, I forget which ones he ordered). Plus, we started with the Poke appetizer… it was way too much food, but we ate it all because everything was so delicious!

The quality of the fish is great. Actually, all of the ingredients seem to be premium grade! Yes, the prices are a little higher than other sushi places in town. But, I’m happy to pay it because the overall experience is so worth it. We can’t wait to go back, sit in the bar and lounge area, and have cocktails. I can imagine many date nights, girls nights, and celebrations being held at RAW!

Not super traditional Japanese food but really well executed. The katsu was especially light and crispy and the sushi was delicately rolled. The music was too loud for my taste but expected since it's a lounge. Family friendly too, since a lot of small children were there.

Raw seems to have hit the mark with its fantastic service, especially with server Sean. Outstanding service can truly elevate a dining experience. It's also great to meet and greet the owners themselves! It just shows how much they and their team care about their guests.

The addition of a cool bar and a late-night dining option in Elk Grove is definitely a game-changer. Seeing our town evolving and offering more diverse dining experiences is great.

Overall, Raw is a must-visit spot for sushi, cocktail lovers, and anyone looking for a great night out in Elk Grove. Will definitely be back soon!
