Il Fornaio

We ordered our favorites dishes and each had favorite pasta along with other food items. The pastas are just as magical as heaven made us ordered another batch, because it was delicious right amount of olive oil I think, tomatoes and you name it, they're all there in that level of deliciousness.

The name speaks for itself, right! Originally born in San Francisco and migrated to Marin in the mid 70’s to raise a family, II Fornaio was our mantra. We made weekly stops for an assortment of biscotti cookies or gelato on those hot dry summer days. I enjoyed dining outdoors listening to the water flowing from their Italian wall fountain. My favorite was espresso with biscotti after savoring a hot panini sandwich.

On my monthly visit here to Sacramento, I stopped in at the II Fornaio, Capitol Mall, my first time. I was disappointed to find out that biscotti is not a choice from the skimpy bakery selection of chocolate chip cookies, muffins and pasteries catered by a local Sacramento bakery.

The ambiance of the restaurant itself was very pleasing. I regret not having the time to have lunch. But my next visit, II Fornaio is definitely on my bucket list, because as I mentioned, it’s name speaks for itself.

Food is delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Service is always top notch too. If you are looking for Italian comfort food, then this is the place. Food was amazing and the waiters were very professional. There was a bit of a wait but there was three of us and it was quite busy, so it's understandable.

Really a beautiful restaurant. The attention to detail is way over the top. Think FANCY. The food did not disappoint. My sweetheart had the Nochi and meat sauce, I went with the amazing lasagna. I am on a long term diet so this was a definite cheat day (weekend) Everything was perfect! must try
