Rio City Cafe

Rio City was following all of the Covid protocols, visited for lunch, sat outside on the balcony overlooking the river. View was excellent. Ordered the fish and chips and prime rib dip sandwich. Both were good, above par. Just not quite a 5 star rating.

Love the ambiance of eating next to the river. Dinner was just ok. We had Halibut but sauce over powered it. Ribs were over cooked. Filet Beef was not tender and covered in maple syrup (dont do that to beef). Breakfast is usually much better here. We will go back for good service and of course the view!

One can see patrons enjoying their time, licking their fingers and one another. If I ever get a pair of pants this is the first place I'll go.

Great place, outside seating on the river. Watermelon martinis are almost as good at the Raspberry ones. Best clam chowder bowl I've had in Sacramento.

We tend to try and make a brunch/lunch visit here an annual event as we head from Tahoe via Sacramento to SFO and back home. It was a beautiful sunny day and we easily had our request fulfilled for a table in the sunshine on the deck overlooking the American River. As it was a Monday, the place was not very busy and so seating was immediate and easy. The only slight blemish on the experience was the table behind us where two ladies, one of whom had two well-behaved toddlers, were seated. They seemed to be having a loud conversation that ranged from discussing Income Tax and the IRS to pregnancy and relationships.
