The food was delicious especially there chicken dish. The atmosphere was amazing. This place is not a fast pace restaurant where you are there foe 45 minutes. You sit and enjoy yourself for couple hours. Which I love.
I had seen a segment on Good Day Sacramento about the Sloughhouse kitchen. I am vegan so I was excited to try their pasta their noodles are vegan. It was very good and it came scalding hot. I love hot food but it took me about 10 minutes before I could actually eat it. If I had it again I would ask for less sauce. It was very watery but had good flavor.
I started with the minestrone soup. If you are vegan just order it without the cheese. That was also very good.
I was very disappointed though that their sourdough bread was not vegan. When I saw the segment on good day I just assumed sourdough would not have animal products in it but theirs does.
All in all the experience was very good. Staff is very friendly. Just beer and wine It would be nice if they had cocktails also. We had the Story Chardonnay. It was excellent
Quaint Charming and fun. Small bites (antipasto) for lunch, lots of food, farm fresh, wonderful flavors and fantastic desert. I can't wait to try dinner here.
Stop by and enjoy!
We came in around lunchtime on a Thursday. They’re open 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 9 pm Wednesday through Sunday. For the 11:30 - 2:30 time period, there is one menu option, which is tapas (a bountiful five plate serving of meats, cheeses, delicately seasoned pickled peppers, pickled seafood, and freshly made sour dough bread). Everything was VERY delicious! I especially liked the braised pork shoulder, which practically melted in my mouth. Cost was $25. We enjoyed with a nice local white wine that’s as good as you might imagine! The service was exceptionally friendly!
What a wonderful little spot with excellent food. Locally sourced ingredients and cooked with love. This will be a regular spot.
