The Hat

Fast service, casual dining and generous portions are at every The Hat I have been to. The pastrami sandwich is what they have built their business around and the pastrami is both generous and seriously flavorful. I think I have tried everything on their menu but I had to subtract one star because I have not been impressed by their other items. The tuna is especially bland and their burger tastes ordinary. I go back because friends want to go their but I only order the pastrami now.

I only gave it 4 stars because of the health factor! Had a turkey burger on sourdough and it was fantastic. Easy ordering and not a long wait at all. Cheesecake was a 2-hour wait so we decided to go to The Hat. So glad we did. Everyone raved about their food. Huge portions of onion rings and french fries.

Great food. The loaded fries were delicious!!!! Portions were huge!!!! The chili is a bit spicy for me. They are very popular. The seating needs major updates. Tiny booths so maybe a family of 4. But your squished tight next to each other. And if you're a bigger person you won't fit in the booth.

The counter staff recommended the pastrami dip, which two of us tried. Large portions, and despite the great taste we could only eat half. Fries and onion rings crisp and flavorful too. Surprise of the day was the cheeseburger, with shredded lettuce, tomato and two thin patties. This may be one of the best burgers we had recently. Prices are reasonable, and the location is clean and well run. One of our orders was missing, and the manager raced it out with polite apologies. Will return... and get the burger!

Great food. Great customer service. The pastrami sandwich is excellent! If you want to try something new and different try the pastrami chili cheese fries. Your mouth will thank you! If you are not that adventurous a side of gravy goes well with the fries! Portions are huge. My wife and I usually split a pastrami sandwich and one order of fries and we don’t finish the fries. For bigger appetites you might want two sandwiches.
