Smell something delicious on a hot plate? It's probably Sizzlin' Place, which reminded me of Pepper Lunch in many ways - it was nice to see another one of these kinds of eateries open up, especially in a marketplace like the Haven City.
You order on a tablet first before sitting down and waiting for your order. Service was super nice and upbeat to everyone and accommodating.
The dish to get is the ribeye which is a pretty beefy (no pun intended) meal that comes with fries. Super delicious according to my colleagues and pretty to look at too.
I got the salmon hot plate which was good and pretty to look at. I was super glad I was informed how to actually mix together the dish and finish 'cooking' the meal on the hot plate. There were sauces and a butter that I didn't see at first and was told to mix this all together along with pressing down on the rice to make it crispier. Definitely great tips for anyone eating this kind of dish too.
I got the opportunity to chat with the owner, Casey, who had a super fascinating history working all over China / Singapore and finally back here in the States. Really was super kind and friendly throughout our time there (and appreciate the compliment)!
Glad I stopped by for sure and hope to try the ribeye / other items on my next stop!
Very good food accepts Apple Pay which is a huge plus and prices are very reasonable and it’s right in front of the live music place so you’ll get front row exprince
Great food. Much better than some local competitors. I’ve never had a bad experience here!
Sizzlin' Place is a Japanese restaurant located in Haven City Market, Rancho Cucamonga. We visited this place on November 16, 2019, to eat lunch. The place was crowded when we got there. We ordered Hot Plate Beef. We waited 15 / 20 minutes for our food. The food was average, rice wasn’t cooked properly and it was hard as well as chewy. The price was a bit high considering both the quality and quantity of food.
This reminded me of Pepper Lunch in Diamond Jamboree in Irvine. If you're hungry or if you're sharing, definitely upsize it. The small portion is a lot smaller than the one from Pepper Lunch, but also, the price reflect that it is smaller. I tried the beef and chicken and both were tasty, although slightly on the salty side. I would definitely come back to try more of the dishes, like the curry or the salmon steak. This was my first time at Haven City Market and this was the first place we picked to try. When you first arrive, you order and pay on the screens in the front before you get seated. We only waited for 5 minutes for seats because another group happened to leave as soon as we ordered. Definitely recommend it!
