Campfire

Came in yesterday after a day at Legoland. All six in our party were extremely happy with the food and service. We are picky eaters and were pleasantly surprised with dish after dish of awesomeness. Each dish alone would have made us come back, but this was a non-stop parade of hits. We will definitely be back!

This place should be renamed CAMPFIRE-WHERE THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE EAT. We were just going for a drink or two at the bar and meet up with some friends. The drinks are like artwork and were very good. We decided to stay for dinner which was excellent. Service was great. It's a really fun place to go and delicious. It's a very hip scene for sure

Amazing place! Very attentive staff and incredible food. We made it in time for happy hour and enjoyed some awesome cocktails worth trying to replicate at home. For the meal, our party of four opted for the family style Camp Feast. $65 per person but it was well worth the cost. 5 courses and a bonus appetizer. If you are a foodie, then this is the place for you. The noise level inside was pretty high and there were times we were struggling to hear each other. We dined at 5:45 pm on a Friday night. Next time, I think I will request an outside table.

The food here is fantastic. Almost everything on the menu is outstanding, and even the dishes that aren't home runs are still pretty great. Their steak is absolutely delicious and one of the best around. They serve a seasonal menu that changes with the availability of fresh ingredients and the chef is always experimenting with new dishes and concepts. They have a full bar and their house cocktails are really good, with a few deals for happy hour. All that being said, I had to remove one star for their service. First of all, when ordering several dishes / courses, they have almost no concept of pacing. You may get 2 entrees within a couple minutes of each other and feel rushed, but then you're stuck waiting half an hour before something else finally gets to the table. Also, the wait staff although friendly is very impersonal. My girlfriend and I used to dine here fairly regularly (several times per month), even with the same waitress on consecutive visits, but they have never recognized us or even treated us like loyal patrons, which isn't terrible, but is nice to have, especially when certain local competing restaurants are much better at this. That aside, I would still recommend Campfire to locals and visitors alike for their great food.

EDIT - Since initially writing this review, I have to say the service has improved greatly. The last few times my girlfriend and I have dined at Campfire, our waiter was outstanding, and not to mention the meal pacing was perfect. Dishes arrived promptly, but the meal was not rushed. I am glad that the management is actively working to develop and maintain a high level of quality dining here in North County.
