This place is so delicious. Authentic Mexican food that screams “eat me now!” Their mole is incredible. Absolutely recommend this place if you’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Fabulous , authentic Mexican food from the region of Oaxaca - homemade tortillas, homemade chips, delicious house made salsas. Specialties include mole and the tastiest Chile rellenos I've ever eaten apart from Mexico. Great parking in back. Go for delicious, mouth watering food with portions that are more than satisfying. El Tejate is not about atmosphere, it's about excellent quality in ingredients, superb flavors, unique choices, and wonderful service. Lots of beer on tap choices as well!

We stopped for dinner on our way home from San Diego and were so impressed with this family owned authentic Mexican restaurant. The best Chili Relleno we’ve ever had. All homemade and the tortillas are hand made in restaurant. You won’t be disappointed with the flavors buts it’s not elegant if your looking for atmosphere.

We came here for dinner and comedy night. I didn't understand everything on the menu, but the waiter was really helpful and offered some suggestions. He was also very nice even though he was super busy. Thank you for a fun evening!

Loved their seafood soup and chicken rice soup, huge portions! Tortillas were super fresh and you could tell they were just made. Everything was delicious, and the mole sauces, best in North County!
