Delicious food and drinks in a Tiki bar setting. Especially love the Volcano fries and huge tacos. Drinks made without skimping on alcohol. Atly was especially attentive and informative server.
The islander has a fun atmosphere. The food was hit and miss, but good overall. We really enjoyed the apps - the volcano fries, poke tacos, pupu platter and nachos. The chicken and shrimp tacos were bland, I wouldn’t recommend those. The other entrees - burger and pork dish were good.
The volcano fries were really good. Although pretty, the pineapple fried rice wasn't as good and the tacos were lacking as compared to other well-known places like Taco Stand
This place is delicious! I was headed up to The Henry and we ended up parking in front and I realized it was a new place! Wow am I glad we stopped in. This place is so cute and decorated with an adorable tiki vibe. The drinks are phenomenal. They have a great assortment of tiki drinks and their group drinks are very reasonably priced. The Pupu platter is delicious! I love the fall off the bone ribs and the black bean hummus is so refreshing and a good contrast to the fatty meat and the egg rolls. The chicken satay is perfectly cooked and has great flavor. Our server was fantastic and she warned us about our tacos possibly being too spicy so we ordered the chili oil on the side. She surprised us by splitting our plates! The chili oil is PERFECT for me but i get that it could be too hot for someone else. Will for sure be back! A pleasant welcome to Coronado.
Hey guys, you should make a speak easy tiki bar in the back somewhere. ;)
Yum and fun! Loved the island vibe and nods to the best surf spots. I'm posting this before an official grand opening, so things might change, but we enjoyed the Todos Santos tostada with mahi, Pineapple fried rice with chicken, bonfire s'mores dessert 🤤 and the Blue Hawaiian drink. Portions were big and I definitely overate but oh well it was delicious!
