Talega Coffee

Solid. Five. Stars.

Ok, look. East County doesn't really the whole coffee scene going for it. BUT! This place is where it's at. Like, if you asked anyone in East County, they would recommend some other "hip" places with the lavender lattes and all that (for the simple fact that they don't know about this place), but they would pale in comparison to Talega Coffee. Everyone is sleeping on this place. The honey lavender latte I had was so smooth and decadent, with a great espresso flavor, a creaminess that was just right and a sweetness that wasn't over the top. I got it with oat milk and it was divine. And I know what you're going to say: "It's out of the way," "it's in this random business area," "are you sure we're driving the right way? Is it really over here?" Yes. Yes it is. And it is also the best coffee you're going to get in East County that also stands up against other top coffee shops in San Diego. The only downsides this place has are: 1) it closes early, though I'm hoping they will have later hours for studying/working when more business comes, and 2) they don't have as much variety as other places. I wish they had a white mocha, but they don't. That being said, what they do have, they do very well, so that won't stop me from coming.

Talega, please consider staying open later down the road. I would stop by!

Talega is a great coffee spot with delicious food options as well? their avocado toast and ham and jam sandwich have become my new favorite after class snacks and the service is always great. Plus, the scones and muffins are dangerously good ? if you have time to hang around, the environment in modern and comfortable with plenty of seating inside and out. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice place to study or hang out and don't mind getting hooked on some of the food offerings here ?

Super nice space to enjoy a latte and avocado toast. Really yummy Ginger Cinnamon latte and Honey Lavender latte- smooth, subtle taste. I highly recommend this place to take a break or to study or hang with a friend.

Delicious iced americano, delicious avocado toast on high quality bread, cool interior design and great music. Service was also on point. I recommend giving them a visit!
