LOVE their rice pots. Wish I could go more often!

Decor, ain't much. Potstickers are delicious and the hot bowl of rice, sprouts, zucchini, carrots, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, shrimp and steak.... fun, filling and flavorful! Price, slightly high but we shared one bowl, lots of food! No atmosphere, so no 5 stars, that I reserve for fun. Service ok, not much personality. Food made up for it!

Been coming here since it opened. Always A+ Jacob keeps the place tight and really clean. Cant get enough.

Great place! it was super busy so we had a bit of a wait. The service was good and the food came out as quick as you'd expect. The menu was really unique and fun. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the food was a bit underwhelming. It was good! It just missed big flavor, a fulness, and a good mouthfeel. Next time I'd get two eggs on the Mongolian Monk Stone Pot.

Good food and good service. I go here for lunch occasionally with friends who like it a lot. Initially I didn't care for it because I avoided their signature "Monk's Bowl" because Monk food didn't sound appealing. It is actually hearty and delicious.

So, I like East Village Asian Diner well enough, but I had to work to get there. I can rate a great taco stand above a fine dining restaurant based on the taco stand meeting expectations. After returning several times I still don't know what this place is. So you have to work to even set expectations, then find what you like there. I am happy to continue going back.
