I certainly was not disappointed. To be honest, the people working there was what made the whole experience worth it. The staff was extremely friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. I felt like I was a part of the family there and I loved it.
Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The man who brought our drinks and bussed the tables was also very attentive. All three of us ordered a lunch special that was very generous in size. I love their chowder in the bread bowl and it did not disappoint. Will certainly return.
It has literally been years since I have been here. I had completely forgotten how beautiful the setting is. There is a small lake that is full of beautiful ducks fed by fountains. We had a window seat inside but next time definitely will reserve an outside table beside the lake. The bar menu is fairly diverse. The three of us each had something different plus the grilled brussel sprouts. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We were gifted with a slice of cake and scoop of ice cream to celebrate a birthday. Our hosts were very attentive and kind. Perfect place to take your parents, grandparents or believe it or not a first date!
The restaurant sits above a secluded grotto - a large pond surrounded by trees and shrubs - which is the home of ducks, geese crane, herons, and other assorted birds. You can enjoy the view from a window booth, or there is also seating outside by the lake. A wide variety of seafood is served, all of it delicious. Service is excellent. You can buy food for the ducks and feed them if you wish, which we did after dinner. Highly recommend this place!
I have been coming to Anthony's since I was a child and I absolutely love it. Mind you, if you are looking for a fun, upbeat and trendy ambiance this place is not for you. It is frequented by mostly older clientele. That being said, the servers are very polite and attentive, the food is great and the location is centric. I recommend the red chowder, a staple in this restaurant for more than 60 years.
