Hello Betty Fish House

Place was pretty good. The shrimp peel n eat was amazing and crab dip on point. Only thing was the waitress wouldn't stop talking to go put in our damn order

Overall it was ok. Food was decent, atmosphere was fine. Was a little annoyed with the "service charge" added to the ticket. Just hide it in the prices somewhere. I'm a small business owner in Illinois, we are taxes enough with hidden taxes, so really hated to have it in my face. No other restaurants we visited did this.

We had a large group with people coming over time. They were very accommodating with our group. The service was good but very slow. We had to wait for the drink orders for the kids and the rest of us. The food came out fast and hot, but it took a long time to get to make an order. I would have been a lot happier with our experience if the wait staff was more attentive. We had small children that were getting antsy. For the price we paid I would have liked a better wait staff.

We have eaten at Hello Betty's a few times and it's a nice "sea food" diner with great fish 'n chips', fish tacos, and other great fish meals. The beach view from the West side is fantastic - especially at sunset with the sky-reaching silhouetted palm trees. Sorry to say, the last time we were there we were greeted by a not-so-nice hostess and the service during the rest of our experience was less than enthusiastic. That was troubling. Normally though, Hello Betty's comes highly recommended by us.

Was OK at best. Service at the bar was lame, and it was not busy. Bar area smelled pretty bad of stale beer. Fine for a dive bar, but this place is attempting to be trendy. Location and open air style was cool. Happy hour food was decent. I'd go back because of location only, not expecting much.
