Sound by the Sea

I want to love this place, but it’s inconsistent and here is what I mean:

Went on a weeknight and everybody in there was there for the music. People weren’t on their phones, folks were dancing and listening to music, service was amazing, and the DJ was dope. The type of vibes you’d look for in a listening lounge/sound bar.

Came on a Friday night and while the DJs were great, you could barely hear their music bc 1. The manager (I guess he was the manager) asked the DJ to turn the music down and 2. Because of how low the music was, all you could hear were the loud, collective conversations of all the patrons. Definitely a vibe killer - if I wanted to listen to people talk loudly, I would’ve gone to the dive bar down the street.

Also, why is it so bright in here? Can we get sexy lighting? It’s giving family brunch restaurant. No wonder people weren’t appreciating the music and there were children in there. Also, our server disappeared; maybe her shift ended, but considering she hadn’t checked on us, we didn’t know.

The place has a lot of potential and it’s still fairly new, so I’ll def visit again, but if you want to truly enjoy the music, go on a weeknight.

Attention to detail and amazing set up and decor. The staff is very very nice, lovely and on top of every single detail. Great place to enjoy with friends, have fun with god quality of music and amazing drinks in addition with some yummy and delicious appetizers. Empanadas are my favorites!!
The atmosphere is very inviting to spend a super relax and enjoyable evening.
Is also a great place to work in the afternoons in the patio with the laptop and also pet friendly.
Many good combinations in just one place.

It's a really cool spot. I love the couches and the atmosphere. The music is great. The only thing is please list on your menu that your cocktails are soju. It's very deceiving and I wouldn't pay 17 for that. I'd prefer a beer or wine.

What's not to love! Cozy, friendly atmosphere with great food and drinks. The outdoor patio is a super comfy spot to hang with friends while inside pays homage to all things music. The owner Dom is a true music aficionado who moved to Oceanside from Belgium to share the concept of a listening bar. It's hard to describe the quality of the sound, so do yourself a favor and just go listen and be amazed!

What a cool place and hip vibe. Tunes spun live on vinyl with great sound system. Came to town saw this and loved the atmosphere. Drinks delicious
