This place was amazing! The best breakfast I've had in a long time. We were visiting from out of town and we stayed at the Dana Hotel. Their on-site restaurant, the Firefly, wasn't great. The quality of the food served in a cramped and poorly conceived buffet style wasn't worth the price.
So, we found the Breakfast Republic. We went at 9am on a weekday and got right in. I could see how there could be a long wait if one were to go at peak times like on the weekend. The food came in generous portions and was priced fairly. Maybe better if you wanna think of it from the "bang for the buck" angle. Delicious food and good coffee. What more can you ask for?
They don't have a kids menu, maybe that's what. However, they do have churro pancakes and many other super sweet pancake options that kept my kid happy. There was plenty for sharing with little brother.
I'm just going to say it, best breakfast in San Diego. I love the giant cup of coffee, the food is great, atmosphere is awesome. Highly recommend
Good selection of breakfast items and drinks. We originally went to another location, but the wait was too long. We were seated in a very reasonable time at this location. Lattes were great. The food was tasty but cold. We didn't complain because we waited so long for both locations. We will be back for a second try.
Best breakfast place! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Great variety, good ingredients, and generous amount of food. Love the decor and the ambience. Well worth the wait! Oh and bottomless organic coffee! ????
Great place to meet up with friends at Ocean Beach in San Diego.
What a great beach town and just blocks away from the ocean.
Service is very efficient and the server is very nice.
We were seated right away and the server asked what we wanted to drink.
This was our first time here so the server gave us time to look over the menu to decide what we wanted to eat. It's an upstairs restaurant so you have to take the stairs to get to the second floor. If you are unable to climb the staircase there is an elevator to assist those who need to take elevator to go up or down.
We all ordered the Portuguese scramble and you get a choose of the type of toast you want. It was very delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the English muffin and OMG the jam and butter it comes with it was so delicious. I had to have another dish of jam and butter. I wish they sold their jam because I would buy it. It's a berry jam but it has such a good flavor. They sell their coffee in bulk and their coffee is very good
Everything is so very fresh and you could tell they take pride in what they serve you and how their food is prepared.
It's a very cozy place with wooden walls and open front windows. In the back of the restaurant there is a patio area you could sit. Great ambiance and a very relaxing atmosphere. Fun place to meet up with friends for a good meal.
