We had an outstanding dining experience at The Cottage when we stopped here for breakfast during our recent stay in the San Diego area. The morning we stopped there was a full house inside, so we opted to dine outside even though it was rather cool and there was a chance of some light rain. The umbrellas and multiple outdoor space heaters kept us warm and dry though. The breakfast was beyond excellent and the coffee was delicious and our cups were always full. Our server even got us fresh coffee in 'to-go' cups as we were leaving. The portion sizes are generous, especially the 'kids' meals! The service was also superb -- everyone worked as a team to keep things flowing smoothly and customers happy. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a tasty breakfast with excellent service in the San Diego area!
We travel a lot and this, by far is the best restaurant we have ever been to for breakfast. Great staff with wonderful attitudes. Great gluten-free options, and as the waiter told us his morning, our second day there in a row, anything you want is possible. The owner is personable and gets to know his customers, we'll be back whenever in the San Diego area.
Favorite Brunch spot when visiting San Diego! Best breakfast and lunch options! The French toast are to die for!! Really reasonably priced! Usually a wait, especially in the weekend, but have free coffee and coffee cake while you wait! Inside or outside eating options. Lots of drink options- mimosas anyone?!? Try to get here at least once a year because it is a real treat!! Close to Main Street La Jolla and the beach so great location!
The food was excellent! It's your average brunch place (slightly higher in price) but the ingredients were great! The down side is that it gets crowded and had to wait an hour. But it was worth the wait.
I had the La Jolla Benedict and it was ????????. The scone was great too! Probably will come back when I visit SD again!
