Some people don't like breakfast. Not me -- I could eat it all day long, which is good because I'm usually not awake early morning, being a night bird. But I did make it in early one morning, just before 7am, to take advantage of the breakfast deals ($6.95 for any of over a dozen breakfast plates before 8am -- maybe a bit over half the regular price).

While listening to Blondie's "Heart of Glass" right at 7am didn't help my headache, the staff is very friendly and the portions huge -- especially the mini football of shredded hash browns. Unlike some breakfast joints who serve extra hash browns and don't cook the center properly (raw potato), what I was served was perfect. There was so much food, I actually struggled to finish it all. What helped wash most of it down was a tall flute glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Next time I go, I'm either going to have a glass of prosecco mimosa. Or the Mimosa Flight, which is four rock glasses of prosecco with four different juices/ lemonades

The Broken Yolk Cafe is an excellent spot for a sit-down breakfast with family and friends. They were able to sit us quickly and there was only about a fifteen to twenty minute wait between ordering and receiving our food (even at 9:30 in the morning!). The booths are clean and the large windows allow for a lot of natural light leading to a very bright and open atmosphere. The waitress that served us was friendly and accommodating. Even on a busy Sunday morning, we did not feel like we were neglected or that the restaurant was understaffed. The menu is expansive, almost to a fault as it was difficult to choose, ranging from classic America savory and sweet breakfasts ( i.e. hash plates, omelettes, and waffles) as well as some South of the border and non-traditional options. As far as I could tell, a breakfast plate from their menu generally ranges from $12-15.
    Good job Broken Yolk!

I've eaten at this one, the PB & La Costa locations... they ALL have FANTASTIC food and extremely nice staff. They have something for everyone! Go and you won't be disappointed.

A pleasant venue for breakfast or lunch. Good senior pricing options at $8, plus $1 for bottomless coffee. My "silver dollar" pancakes were actually a lot larger than the name suggests. The omelets are generously sized as well, and tasty.

I'm here visiting and I told my friend we have to go to the Broken Yolk. Not only was the food great, but the service was very efficient. When we arrived the door was busting with people which to me was a sign that this is a well liked establishment. Even though there were a sea of people the hostess, Dawn was calm and attentive to each customer. I had a friend who didn't too much like his choice of food and Chelsea came and took care of it. I am so upset this will be my last encounter at the Broken Yolk for awhile. Talk to corporate and tell them to get a couple in Illinois! Please!
