My son and I came from out of town and were told that we just have to try Kappa. The staff was very helpful and the sushi chef was super friendly and engaging with my son who had just got 3 1st place medals. He was very positive and encouraging. Teaching us about what he was doing and what we are eating. We had a blast and will most likely be back next year for our next competition. Thank you Kappa Sushi for the best sushi we have had in Southern California. We left happy and full. What more can you ask for.
きれ! if that can be used on food, such a pretty roll, delicious too! I tend to judge a sushi place by how much rice accompanies the sushi and Kappa Sushi does it right! Not too much rice for nigiri or sushi roll. These were both on the daily special menu and it is clear the sushi chef takes great pride in his creations. ごちそうさまでした!
5 stars for speed and service! I give a 3 star rating because we ordered 4 rolls and 3 of them were cooked (this wasn't clear when we ordered and was not what we wanted). If you prefer raw fish, be careful when you order!
Great sushi place... often busy and they don’t take reservations, so plan accordingly. They have a lot of original rolls... my two favorites are the lemon drop and surf and turf. Nice selection of both hot and cold sake. Their miso soup is not my favorite... it seems to have less flavor than at other sushi houses. But otherwise it’s definitely a great place to go. They always have unique and tasty daily specials as well.
I love the staff at Kappa--I really feel at home when I eat here. My recommendation would be to order the specials of the day. They know how to make a perfect bite. I have been dinning here for about 4 years now, and it has become one of my most frequented spots.
