Duck nachos were amazing. Counter service with open tab ability. Great beer and wine selection. Helpful staff
Outstanding selection of beers on tap and spot on for description of variety and style. Nice to have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Had a burger that was just so so as far as size vs price. The beer is the real star here... Will be back, but probably eat prior to coming.
Always my first stop, after arriving at San Diego International Airport. Now a tradition. The beer selection and quality are always consistently great, clean taps every time I've been there. The food and the menu are also equally great, every time. Staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. Outdoor patio is very easy on the eyes and very comfortable.
We came to check out Ballast Point and engaged in a brief tour. Our guide was very friendly. It's always fun to visit breweries and learn something about the inception and distribution of the business.
We tried some of the more unusual flavors; Bread Pudding, Peanut Butter, Thai Iced Tea. They were fun to try, but I think I may stick to more classic flavors of stouts and ales next time.
We also split some bone marrow and a sandwich for lunch, which were not bad. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 7/10.
It's clearly a very popular place to be. They serve food, beer, wine, and dessert. The beer selection here is much broader than you can find in a store or taproom outside of the area, so it's a natural choice for out of town tourists.
The noise is too much for good conversation, but it's good for light chatting over a few beers.
The service is good, but we found that the people providing the service are very distant from the beer production and can't answer even basic questions about the beers, their flavors, and the differences between them.
Overall it was a good experience, and I think any out of town Ballast Point fan would appreciate the selection.
