Birria El Rey

Fantastic place. We had two Keto tacos a piece. They were amazing! I would have taken a picture of them, but they were so good we both ate them so quickly! Will definitely return. Highly recommend!!

A small corner “restaurant”, I would even consider this street food. They only sell birria here and this is exactly why it’s my favorite place to get birria in San Diego. The price is cheaper compared to other birria restaurants but it’s definitely not lacking in flavor. Tacos are crunchy, cheesy, and meaty. Consommé comes in good portion and very flavorful. If you order ramen birria, you will get a larger portion of consommé. “It’s everything you want from a birria place”.

This taco place had amazing Burris tacos. The beef is cooked and marinated for 4+ hours in broth before being served to you. The broth is also given ($1.99)/ea. to have with your tacos and it was amazing. It was very flavorful and a touch spicy. The only downside I had with that tacos was that one side of them was kind of soggy possibly from the broth and beef sitting in them. Other than that, they were very tasty and really good.

First time coming here and I'll definitely be back. I got their burrito and it was soooo good. The outside of the burrito was toasted, the rice and birria inside was so flavorful. Red chili sauce was tasty, a bit spicy. They gave us habanero marinated red onions on the side. Those were good. The rest of the menu looks so good. Can't wait to try other items!
