La Puerta

I love this place the decor is so beautiful makes you feel like you're on vacation with plant wall and indoor/outdoor design. Definitely a more chill design than the downtown location. They have a great happy hour everyday from 3:00 to 5:00 and their service is fantastic, our server Irvin was so great, we'd come back just for him. The food was exceptional also, really tasty and big portions! Got to try more margaritas! (P.s. this place is also very dog-friendly they were five dogs there).

This place might have the best red salsa I've ever had. A very beautiful set up with great food that comes in large portions.

This is a great spot for happy hour, a light graze or a more serious sit-down chomping session. I've been a fan of the downtown location for years, but I love this Mission Hills outlet even more. The indoor/outdoor setup is San Diego at its best. I can't recommend La Puerta enough! I also strongly recommend ordering anything "wet" - these folks know their way around sauce.

This was my first stop when I landed from the east coast. Co-workers had been raving about it. We were able to bring our office puppy, customize our order, landed in happy hour. The food, service, and aesthetic were fantastic!

The vibe is super cool, all the staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. The papas fritas are out favourite!
