Very, very classy hotel, with excellent service. Arturo and team really blew us away when dealing with an issue, not just taking care of it, but doing it with superb style and class. The hotel's ocean view is superb, and La Jolla is such a beautiful part of G-d's creation!
It's a great place to take out of town guests for drinks. Old California vibe inside. Drinks are good. You can order appetizers. I also take business clients here.
My girlfriend and I like to take a “staycation” about once every other month or so, and after searching for a new place to stay, we decided to try La Valencia. It seemed like a really nice place to have a fun, relaxing weekend. We definitely didn’t expect it to be as nice and charming as it is, so we had an amazing weekend.
First and foremost, the staff is incredible. Every single person we encountered during our stay — whether it be the valet, guest services, concierge, etc. — were genuinely nice and helpful. We don’t stay at a lot of high end hotels too often, but when we do we usually come across one, maybe two really nice people. At one point we said to each other how, literally every single person at the hotel is so welcoming and so good to us. Sunday morning before checkout, I mentioned to a girl at the front desk that my girlfriend wasn’t feeling well, and she went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everything was okay and that we were happy. Everyone genuinely made an effort to make sure we had a nice stay. They succeeded and we couldn’t be more grateful.
All the words and pictures can’t quite capture just how beautiful this hotel is. We ended up splurging a bit and got a villa that overlooked the water. The villa itself is extremely charming and spacious, and I can’t think of one tiny negative thing about it. I think it’s worth mentioning that the villa had the best shower I’ve ever been in — I swear I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that.
I know this a bit of a long-winded review, but everything was so perfect and we really wanted to express how much we enjoyed our weekend. We will definitely be coming back next time we both have a free weekend.
My girlfriend Maggi and I were on vacation and decided to take a lunch break at the La Valencia Hotel. Maggi ordered the Signature Turkey Burger and I ordered the Lobster Roll. Both were everything we had hoped for and the view off the Deck was breathtaking yet a since of calmness. We will be back. Oh, and our waiter was excellent and offered some great recommendations for shopping in the Village.
