The food was delicious, I had the cheese fries with Brisket. The brisket was really smokey and tender. The service was great. The cider distillery did not have AC inside and the parking lot is narrow are my only two cons. Patio and indoor seating available.
SO. GOOD. my friends and I bought the fried mushroom cheese fries (twice) to go with our flight from the mead brewery ten feet away. The mushrooms were fried to perfection, the fries had a great Cajun seasoning, and the cheese sauce was a genuine beschemel. I wish I still lived in San Diego so I could come back tomorrow, but it will now be on my list of places to revisit 👌.
Smokin’ J’s location in Mira Mar is a little hidden gem. It’s located in the same building as serpentine cider and lost cause meadery. I got a half pound of pulled pork and the succotash. The pulled pork just melted in my mouth as I took my first bite. The succotash was a great side to accompany the meat. Overall it was a great experience. Definitely would reccomend.
Pretty damn surprised how good the brisket was. It's so hard to find good brisket in San Diego. I had the loaded fries with the brisket and it was incredible. I asked for the fatty side, the point, and they gave me exactly what I was looking for. Soft, tender, smokey, and flavorful meat that melts in your mouth. You'd be hard pressed to find better brisket in San Diego.
Fantastic bbq now at the same location as lost cause meed and serpentine cider. So happy to have good bbq in Mira Mesa now!
The brisket is amazing! The shishito bites are delicious; get them, 🤤
