The Modern Vegan

This restaurant is a Vegan gem. They have an extensive vegan menu. The portions are large. The portion are so large, I have yet to eat dessert at The Modern Vegan. I might have to make a special dessert trip. The desserts are huge. I have eaten here almost every week at least once for the last 3 month. I have only had repeat meals twice. I am not a quarter of the way through the menu. They serve breakfast all day in additions to is a plus for me. The service is the best!

This place earns a solid 5 starts. Everything I've ordered here has been the best vegan food I have ever had. Their presentation is top notch. The menu is quite large and I love that they serve their breakfast options all day. Come hungry...they give you a LOT of food. I highly recommend the Frenchie. Last time we were there Chris was our waiter and he was awesome. ??

The Modern Vegan is amazing! Food is innovative, well priced and the variety is insane! They serve breakfast all day, have great appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, desserts, smoothies, skillets and salads as well! The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because service is a tiny bit slow (even though they are very kind and helpful servers in my experience) and parking can be confusing! The location is near apartments, and the front entrance is right where the apartment parking lot is yet there is no labeled parking for The Modern Vegan. However, there is meter parking pretty available! Overall, would recommend, it is a very pleasant, delicious place!

Just because something is vegan doesn't mean it's healthy and this place is a perfect example. Vegan junk food, heavy, fatty, rich and decadent. If you are looking for non processed, organic, whole foods I would skip this place. If you want plant based diner food you might like it. The menu is massive and most of it is junk food just FYI. If you are health conscious I would just skip it.

We ordered the corn dogs, bah-mi sandwich and Thailand salad, none of it was amazing, flavorful or worth the calories. I doubt we will return.

Great variety of Vegan food to please all appetites with friendly service to boot. Had the Rancho burger and was so stuffed I needed to box the rest. Portions and cost have a good balance here. Thanks The Modern Vegan for giving San Diego Vegans a great dining location. Highly recommended!!!
