(July 12, 2020, 11:49 pm)We were visiting and decided on their breakfast and it was AMAZING! Fast friendly service. Great value too!! The French Toast slices were huge and the bacon was perfectly cooked! Thick and crispy! Wish they could ship us a plate back home!

(December 21, 2019, 1:53 pm)One of the hidden gems of San Diego, Tobey's is a good course diner/restaurant. Come for breakfast on a nice day and sit outside for gorgeous views of Balboa Park, the golf course, downtown, and- in the distance - even the water. Highlights here definitely include the Corned Beef Hash and their homemade green salsa.

(May 14, 2019, 1:01 am)Toby's 19th deserves 5 stars for a few reasons. First, although they are a diner, they do diner food really, really well. Everything was cooked just perfectly, from the eggs to the sausage to the pancakes. Their homemade salsa is also delicious. Secondly, they have great service. I think my coffee was refilled at least 6 times. Lastly, they have an amazing view of the Balboa Park Golf Course. It's one of the better old school diners in San Diego. Pictured are the pork chop special with O'Briens potatoes and toast and the one pancake, one egg, and two sausages breakfast dishes.
