Five Happiness

Friends introduced this to us and we have come back several times. Went to get our Chinese brunch with hot soybean milk, fried crullers, Xiao long bao. They helped us since the breakfast menu was only in Chinese. Quick service. Filled up with local families quickly.

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the street, but this is a popular destination for large Chinese family gatherings for yearly milestones like Lunar New Year's and Grandma's birthday, as well as simple get-togethers like when junior is back in town from college. This restaurant has great food and it can do it banquet-style with all the flair of favorites like roast duck two ways. This is not an any everyday restaurant for most, although it can be, but when it comes to a place that can feed a large family at an affordable price with menu options that will satisfy the kiddos and the grandmas, this is definitely on the short list in San Francisco's Richmond District.

Delicious Chinese food and great service! We got pork dumplings, tofu spinach wraps, and sliced noodles. A new favorite spot for me and I'll be sure to come back when I'm in the neighborhood!

This place is great! It's much nicer inside than the exterior signage/view would suggest.

The inside is large, clean and had a nice casual dining atmosphere. The staff was extremely cordial and attentive without being overbearing. Perfect service.

The prices are reasonable and the portions large. (For example, my plate of chicken fried rice was approximately $10.00 and could feed 2, maybe 3 adults that's coming from a 225lb man.)

The food was fresh, hot and very tasty.

The large, clean interior coupled with the large portions and good prices would make this a great place for a large family get together, retirement party or other types of group dining.

I highly recommend Five Happiness.

I love their sweet & sour chicken with rice. The food is delicious and portions are big. Many Asian people come here so I guess it serves traditional food.
Good location but finding a parking spot can sometimes be hard.
