The Morris sets the bar for hospitality and service. From the moment we walked in to our final goodbyes, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. Our server helped us select a bottle of wine that paired perfectly with our food and made sure to give us a deep dive on the menu.
We started with their selection of charcuterie. With a wide variety of types and flavors you couldn't go wrong. My favorite was the spicy headcheese. From there, we had the kale salad that had a beautiful balance of sweet from the apples and spicy from the dressing. We also had the broccoli and octopus which was the perfect savory counterpart to the salad.
Lastly, we got the half duck. Everyone should order the duck when they eat here. It was juicy, smokey, savory, and perfect. The skin was crispy but the meat melted in your mouth. Don't hesitate on The Morris.
The Morris really stands out! Highly recommend the pork loin. As a beef fans, I am hard to be enlightened by any pork, but they make the pork so well that I even finished all of it. Would definitely visit again!
Lunch is counter service, with a table service vibe. Smoked salmon salad was tasty, iced coffee was not black, and fried brussels were light and crispy. Definitely going back.
Have been going to The Morris since it opened, and before when it was the Slow Club. Love the space. Love the owner, who is invested in making the experience the best it can be. Love sitting at the bar with the regulars. The staff is very much in control, and knows what they are doing. Check it out!
Met up with an old friend here and it was perfect. We shared a fantastic platter of smoked duck, roasted potatoes and good wine. The bread and terrine was amazing to start. Good times.
